Not sure if the certification is still active, but may be worth looking into. "TPC Piper Glen was the first course in North Carolina to be recognized as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary for commitment to environmental quality by meeting required standards for protecting the environment, conserving natural resources and providing wildlife habitats."

According to Steffi Saferit TPC Piper Glen Superintendent their Audubon Certification is still in place.
